Design-Build Services for New Outdoor Amenities and Site Improvements at Agriculture & Conference Center

Background
Chatham County, North Carolina, is seeking a Design-Build firm to enhance the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center (CCACC) due to increased growth and needs. The project aims to improve outdoor facilities and site design to better serve agriculture-related stakeholders and the community. The lead agency for this project will be the Conference Center staff, with assistance from the Facilities & Construction Director and the Manager’s Office.

Work Details
The contractor will provide design and construction services for new outdoor amenities at CCACC, including:

1. A covered arena with seating, barns/stalls, restroom facilities, concessions, and an office/announcer stand.
2. An outdoor multi-use pavilion designed for educational use, farmer’s market capacity, and outdoor events, which may include solarization and optional RV hookups.
3. Two options for the covered arena:
- Option A: Covering the existing arena while adding additional seating and facilities.
- Option B: Constructing a new covered arena adjacent to the existing one with similar enhancements.
4. Improved access, parking, and flow for events based on guidance from Conference Center staff.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence by September 30, 2025, following the award of the contract after interviews scheduled by September 16, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center located at 1192 US HWY 64 Business West, Pittsboro, NC.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must demonstrate experience in Design-Build construction methods and provide qualifications that include a history of similar projects completed in the last five years. Additionally, contractors must comply with Chatham County's goal of 15% minority participation in building construction or repair projects.
