Design and Construction of 10, 000 sq ft Hangar and Office Space at Elizabethtown Airport

Background
The Town of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, is seeking qualified construction firms licensed in North Carolina for the design and construction of a new aircraft hangar and office space.
This project aims to enhance the facilities at Elizabethtown Airport, aligning with the town's development goals and compliance with state and federal guidelines for airport construction.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide design-build services for a 10,000 square foot facility, which includes 7,000 square feet of hangar space and 3,000 square feet of office area.
Key specifications include:
- Minimum eve height of 24 feet with a 1/12 pitch roof.
- Construction will feature a monolithic slab foundation; the building will be clad in metal sheeting.
- The roof will be Galvalume Standing Seam with roof access ladder.
- Windows will consist of aluminum storefront components with insulated LOWE tempered glass; exterior doors will be aluminum full-view doors with panic hardware.
- Site work includes grading for building pad, apron area, parking lot, and utilities.
- Interior finishes include two by two suspended ceilings with drop-in LED lighting in the office area and VCT tile flooring in the kitchen/office areas.
- HVAC systems may be either Package Unit Electric or Split System Electric with a required electrical service of 600 amps.

Period of Performance
The construction is scheduled to start on June 2, 2025, and is expected to be completed by November 1, 2025.
