Construction of Dan Nicholas Campground Bathhouses and Picnic Shelter Restrooms

Background
Rowan County is soliciting bids from qualified licensed general contractors for the construction of the Dan Nicholas Campground Bathhouses and Picnic Shelter Restrooms. The project aims to enhance the facilities at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, North Carolina, providing essential amenities for campground visitors.

Work Details
The contract involves the furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment to construct three new structures: Campground Bathhouse 1 (upper), Campground Bathhouse 2 (lower), and a Picnic Shelter Restroom. The project includes demolition of three existing structures.

Each building will be constructed as one-story CMU masonry structures with features including CMU/masonry walls, wood truss roofs, metal roofing, concrete slabs on grade, and various finishes and accessories as specified in the drawings. General construction work includes site preparation, civil work, structural work, plumbing (sewer and water piping), HVAC (air handling equipment and duct systems), electrical work (service distribution and lighting), roofing installation, door and window installation, wall finishes (tile and paint), and other related tasks.

Proposals must include separate bids for each building but will be awarded based on the lowest total bid for all three buildings combined.

Period of Performance
The substantial completion of the project is expected within 10 months from the commencement of work after contract signing.

The construction will take place at Dan Nicholas Park located at 6800 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be properly licensed general contractors. Each proposal must include a certified check or bid bond equal to 5% of the proposal amount. Separate performance and payment bonds will be required for 100% of the contract price. Contractors must also provide evidence of insurance coverage including workers' compensation and general liability insurance as specified in the solicitation documents.
