Concrete Procurement As Needed

Background
The County of Davidson, through its Support Services Department, is seeking proposals for the procurement of concrete as needed for various county projects.
The Facilities Committee has determined that it is in the best interest of Davidson County to bid all concrete required for county use on an annual basis, starting May 1 each year.
This initiative aims to ensure a reliable supply of concrete for public works and other county departments.

Work Details
The contractor will provide ready-mix concrete delivered to various job sites throughout Davidson County.
Specific requirements include:
- Concrete types: 3000 psi, 3500 psi, 4000 psi, 4500 psi, and 5000 psi mixes.
- Delivery charges: $50.00 for small loads (4 yards or less) and a flat charge of $25.00 for hot water.
- The contractor must deliver concrete in ready-mix trucks and will be contacted by the County the working day prior to delivery with details on location, time, and quantity needed.
- Payment terms are net 30 days with a sales tax of 7% applicable on invoices.
- If concrete fails strength tests during the contract period, the contract will be terminated immediately and the contractor barred from future bids for one year.
- Fly ash is preferred but not mandatory.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective annually starting May 1 each year, with no specific knowledge of needs during any contract period.

Place of Performance
Concrete will be delivered to various job sites throughout Davidson County, North Carolina.
