Background
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 160,000 students across 199 schools. The district is seeking competitive bids from qualified vendors for fire hydrant installation and repair services at facilities owned, leased, or possessed by WCPSS. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all fire hydrants at these facilities are properly installed and maintained to meet safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire hydrants at WCPSS facilities. Services include:
- Installation of new fire hydrants as required.
- Regular maintenance checks to ensure functionality.
- Emergency repairs within a response time of 2 hours for urgent requests.
- Knowledge of hydrants and piping schematics is essential for troubleshooting issues related to these systems.
- The contractor must have procedures in place for working on these systems and ensure employee training is up to date as per requirements.
- All necessary permitting and incidental supplies or hardware required to perform job tasks will be the responsibility of the contractor.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of one year, beginning July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

Services will be performed at various locations within Wake County, North Carolina, specifically at WCPSS facilities.
