Chapman Hall CryoEM Renovation at UNC-Chapel Hill

Background
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) is seeking architectural and engineering services for the renovation of Chapman Hall, which was completed in 2006. This project is part of the College of Arts and Sciences precinct and aims to support the expanding Cryo Electron Microscopy program within the UNC School of Medicine.

Work Details
The project involves comprehensive design and renovation of Chapman Hall rooms B50, B50A, and adjacent areas impacted by the new work. The primary objective is to install a new JEOL JEM-3300 (CRYOARM 300 II) Transmission Electron Microscope (Cryo-TEM). The disciplines involved in this project include architecture, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire sprinkler systems, and structural engineering. This RFQ is specifically for the Advanced Planning phase of the project, with potential for the selected firm to be retained through full design and construction at the University's option.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon selection and is expected to cover the advanced planning phase, with further phases dependent on future authorization.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Chapman Hall, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be licensed to offer architectural or engineering services in the State of North Carolina.
