Carteret County Humane Society Fire System Replacement and Monitoring RFP

Background
Carteret County Government is seeking proposals for the installation of a new Cellular-Enabled Fire Alarm System for the Humane Society located at 853 Hibbs Road, Newport, NC 28570. The goal is to replace the existing fire alarm system and ensure compliance with safety standards while providing monitoring, maintenance, repair, and inspections.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Disposal of old fire alarm systems and installation of a new cellular-enabled fire alarm system.
- Provision of all associated equipment including smoke detectors, low frequency sounders, strobes, pull stations, keypads, fire alarm control panels (FACP), transmitters, cellular communicators, antennas, backup batteries, wiring, power boxes, HVAC shutdown integration components, cover plates, signage, and Knox box.
- Installation of weather-resistant devices as per location requirements.
- Installation of a 6"x6" post with a Knox box at the front entry gate.
- Furnishing new ceiling tiles if necessary for device installation.
- Secure mounting of all devices with enclosed wiring in conduit.
- Submission of equipment specifications including make and model from preferred manufacturers like Honeywell.
- Provision of three laminated hardcopies and one digital PDF copy of scaled drawings showing device locations.
- Coordination with County POC for scheduling work phases to minimize disruption.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed within 90 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

The services will be performed at the Carteret County Humane Society located at 853 Hibbs Road, Newport, NC 28570.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a Certificate of Insurance for liability and Workers’ Compensation. They must also provide their W-9 form and comply with the Iran Divestment Act certification. Contractors are encouraged to utilize Minority Business Enterprises for subcontracted work.
