Carteret County Administration Chiller Replacement

Background
Carteret County Government is seeking competitive proposals for the replacement of an existing 70-ton chiller at the Administration facility located at 302 Courthouse Square, Beaufort, NC 28516. The goal of this project is to ensure efficient climate control within the facility, aligning with the County's commitment to maintaining its public buildings effectively.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Removing and disposing of the existing fencing, 70-ton chiller, and its components in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Furnishing and installing a new air-cooled chiller along with necessary components including voltage protection, piping, insulation, strainer, stands, flow indication, filters, dryers, valves, flanges, gauges, fittings, electrical connections, signage, coil corrosion coatings, and taps for supply and return lines. Accepted manufacturers include Trane, Carrier or York.
- Balancing and calibrating the new system to achieve optimal efficiency and performance.
- Providing all necessary documentation including drawings, manuals, warranty information, maintenance schedules and conducting one onsite training session for staff on maintenance and operation of the new chiller.
- Offering a one-year warranty covering all parts and labor with a response time of 24 hours post-initial contact by the Owner. Additionally providing a five-year parts-only warranty.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence on a scheduled Friday afternoon and must be operable by Sunday evening. The overall completion date for all work is set no later than June 8, 2025.
