Campus Interior Painting Services Required

Background
The State of North Carolina, through Halifax Community College, is issuing this solicitation to secure proposals for campus-wide interior painting projects. The goal is to enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of the college's interior spaces by employing a vendor who can provide both labor and materials necessary for the preparation, repair, and painting of various interior surfaces across the campus. The work must adhere to industry standards and safe practices.

Work Details
The vendor will provide labor and materials for the preparation, repair, and painting of interior surfaces around campus. Specific tasks include:
- Preparation of surfaces to industry standards, including safe removal of old paint.
- Repairing, sealing, or filling in all cracks in walls or floors with appropriate materials.
- Cleaning surfaces to remove oil, grease, mold, mildew, dirt, and corrosion without damaging the substrate.
- Adequately scuffing glossy surfaces to ensure proper adhesion for paint.
- Filling cracks and holes with appropriate fillers and sanding smooth.
- Ensuring surfaces are dry before applying additional coats of paint.
- Applying an undercoat (primer) plus two coats of selected finish color ensuring uniformity in color, gloss, thickness, and texture while avoiding runs or sags.
- Protecting work areas using drop sheets and masking tape as necessary.
- Touching up any marks or stains throughout the project. Areas identified for painting include foyers, hallways, offices (including closets), stairways and handrails, supply room, restrooms, breakroom, conference room. Paint must be from Sherwin Williams or an approved equal.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and continue through the completion and acceptance of all work as specified in the scope.
