Campus Fire Alarm System Replacement Multiple Buildings

Background
Pitt Community College, located in Winterville, NC, is seeking to replace existing fire alarm systems or provide new fire alarm systems in multiple buildings including AB Whitley, Leslie, Whichard, Greenville Center Annex, and Law Enforcement Training (LET).
This project aims to enhance safety measures across the campus by ensuring that all buildings are equipped with modern fire alarm systems that comply with current safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete replacement or installation of fire alarm systems in specified buildings. This includes:
- Assessment of existing systems and infrastructure.
- Installation of new fire alarm systems that meet all applicable codes and standards.
- Integration with existing building safety systems where applicable.
- Testing and commissioning of the new systems to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Providing training for staff on the operation of the new fire alarm systems.
The project will follow specifications outlined in Divisions 00, 01, 26, and 28 of the project manual.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence after the bid award on May 20, 2026, and must be completed within a timeframe specified in the contract documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Pitt Community College located at 1986 Pitt Tech Rd, Winterville, NC.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a proper General Contractor's license as required under North Carolina state laws. The project is set aside for Single Prime bids.
Bidders are required to submit a cash deposit or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of their proposal or a bid bond of the same amount. A performance bond and payment bond will also be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Additionally, bidders must include forms identifying Minority Business Participation as part of their proposal.
