Briarcliff/Ridgefield Neighborhood Water Main Replacement Project

Background
The Briarcliff/Ridgefield Neighborhood Water Main Replacement Project is issued by the Orange Water and Sewer Authority, which is responsible for providing water and sewer services in Carrboro, North Carolina. The goal of the contract is to replace aging water mains in the Briarcliff/Ridgefield neighborhood to ensure reliable water service and infrastructure integrity.

Work Details
The project involves the complete installation of approximately 17,500 linear feet of existing 6-inch and 8-inch diameter AC water mains. This includes:
- Approximately 11,050 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe
- Approximately 4,850 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe
- Approximately 1,600 linear feet of 2-inch PVC water main

Additionally, the contractor will provide all associated appurtenances such as water meters, fire hydrants, connections to existing water mains at multiple locations, pavement replacement, curb and gutter replacement, and any other work as detailed in the specifications and drawings.

Period of Performance
The project requires substantial completion within 640 consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed and final completion within 670 consecutive calendar days from the same date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the Briarcliff/Ridgefield neighborhood in Carrboro, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess valid North Carolina General Contractor’s Licenses for the type and value of work to be performed. Additionally, there is a minimum participation goal of ten percent (10%) for minority businesses in the total value of the work. Each bidder is required to submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit and may need to provide a certified or cashier's check or a Bid Bond as part of their bid submission.
