Description

A pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, November 12, at 11:00 AM at Eastside WWTPlocated at 5898 Riverdale Drive, Jamestown, NC 27282. City staff will be available to discussthe project and answer pertinent questions including MWBE requirements. All prospectivebidders are urged and cautioned to attend so as to prepare bids based upon a full understanding ofproject specifications.
Background
The City of High Point, North Carolina, is issuing this solicitation for the Eastside WWTP Incinerator Pre-heat Burner Replacement Project. The project aims to enhance the incineration capabilities of the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) by replacing and upgrading critical components of the incinerator system. The goal is to ensure efficient operation and compliance with environmental standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing a new fluidized bed incinerator combustion system, which includes:
- Preheat burner
- Fuel trains
- Piping
- Fittings
- Instrumentation
- Appurtenances

Additionally, a new thermal screw conveyor system will be installed, including high-temperature pipe and fittings, rotating disc valve, rolling slide gates, and appurtenances. The project also includes constructing a new aluminum platform system with structural steel, gratings, guardrails, and ladders. Modifications to the fuel oil system are required along with new electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and other necessary appurtenances for a complete operational system. All related miscellaneous work associated with these tasks is also included.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence after the bid award on December 11, 2024. Specific timelines for completion will be outlined in the contract documents.
