Athletic Event Waste Management and Cleaning Services for ECU Stadiums

Background
East Carolina University (ECU) is seeking bids for trash and waste-related removal and cleaning services at various ECU Athletics stadiums, including Minges Coliseum and Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The goal of this contract is to ensure effective waste management during athletic events, which may occur during holidays, weekends, and nights. The potential contract duration is five years, expected to commence on August 1, 2025.

Work Details
The vendor will be responsible for the following services:

1. Removal of waste/trash after each event and placement in roll-off dumpsters located at or near stadiums and parking lots. For football events, at least two roll-off dumpsters must be provided inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

2. Clean up all waste, trash, bottles, cans, cups, charcoal, etc., in designated areas used for games/events. This includes blowing, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping as needed.

3. Complete services by specific deadlines due to high visibility and other commitments from ECU Athletics.

4. Provide necessary equipment and supplies such as trash bags and gloves.

5. Separate recyclable items from non-recyclable ones and deposit them into designated recycling dumpsters.

6. Empty waste barrels in designated areas without relining them post-cleanup.

7. Ensure proper staffing levels to meet service requirements within designated timelines.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of one year starting from the effective date or August 1, 2025, whichever is later, with options to renew for up to four additional one-year terms.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various ECU Athletics stadiums including Minges Coliseum and Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must be registered in good standing with North Carolina's Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP). They are required to provide background checks for all personnel involved in the contract work.
