Background
Union County, North Carolina, through its Facilities Management Department, is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified architectural firms to provide architectural services for various capital improvement projects on an as-needed basis. This initiative aims to enhance the county's infrastructure and services as outlined in the 2026 Union County Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The selected firms will be engaged for projects where the estimated expenditure of public money is less than $500,000.00.
Work Details
The architectural services required under this contract include traditional architectural services, general design services, engineering services, design review and consultation, and construction administration services.
Additional authorized special services may include facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, space planning, program verification, interior design, food service/kitchen design, graphic design, acoustical design, signage/wayfinding, and building enclosure. Services will be provided through task orders issued by Union County for specific projects identified in the CIP or other capital projects undertaken by county divisions or departments.
Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of two (2) years with one (1) year renewal option based on annual budget appropriation.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed within Union County, North Carolina.
Bidder Requirements
Firms must comply with N.C.G.S. 143-64.31 and must identify a North Carolina licensed professional who will be responsible for the work performed under the contract. The proposer must provide the name, discipline, and North Carolina license number of this professional within their Statement of Qualifications.
Additionally, Union County encourages outreach to Minority Businesses (HUB Certified) and Small Businesses.
