500kW Diesel Generator Installation at CF Pope Elementary School

Background
Pender County is seeking bids for the purchase and installation of a 500kW diesel generator at C.F. Pope Elementary School. This school serves both educational purposes and as a primary shelter for storm emergencies. The generator aims to ensure continuous power during outages, minimizing school closures and supporting emergency operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a turn-key project that includes:
- A 500kW diesel generator
- 3-phase, 480/277 voltage
- Concrete pad foundation
- Built-in fuel tank
- 600-1200 amp automatic transfer switch with programmable exercise timer
- All necessary conduit and wiring per manufacturer guidelines and applicable codes
- Fuel for testing.

The contractor must also secure all necessary permits, coordinate with Pender County Schools and local utilities, conduct all work outside school hours to minimize disruption, perform initial testing and commissioning of the generator system, and provide training for staff. The project must be completed by December 31, 2025.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to begin upon execution of the contract no later than March 20, 2025, with a completion deadline of December 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The installation will take place at C.F. Pope Elementary School located at 400 N. Wright Street, Burgaw, NC 28425.
