24' HDPE Pipe Replacement - Goldsboro St.

Background
The City of Wilson is issuing a request for informal bids for the replacement of 24-inch HDPE pipe on Goldsboro Street in Wilson, NC. This project aims to enhance the city's infrastructure and ensure efficient water management.

The City of Wilson's mission includes maintaining and improving public utilities to serve its residents effectively.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the following items:
1) Mobilization (Lump Sum);
2) 24” Double Walled Linear HDPE (950 feet);
3) Catch Basin (2 each);
4) Grate and Frame with Hood (2 each);
5) Manhole (1 each);
6) Undercut Excavation (150 cubic yards);
7) Select Backfill (700 cubic yards);
8) 30” Curb and Gutter (950 linear feet);
9) 6” Concrete Driveway and Yard Apron (200 square yards);
10) Removal and Disposal of Existing Pipe & Structures (Lump Sum).

Additionally, there are alternates for a 5’ Concrete Sidewalk (500 square yards) and ADA Compliant Handicap Ramps with Truncated Domes (3 each). The total pricing must be submitted without including alternates unless specified.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for a period of 90 days from the notice to proceed. Liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day will apply for delays beyond this timeframe.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed on Goldsboro Street in Wilson, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid bond if the bid amount is $500,000 or above, which should be 5% of the bid amount. Performance and payment bonds are required at 100% of the bid amount for contracts valued at $300,000 or more.

Contractors must comply with E-Verify requirements and cannot utilize subcontractors listed on the Final Divestment List as per the Iran Divestment Act. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to include HUB Certified/minority businesses in their proposals.
