The Onslow Water and Sewer Authority requests proposals for the completion of carbon filter media removal at our Dixon Water Treatment Plant. Proposals will be received at the ONWASA Central Office Complex at 228 Georgetown Road, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 2:00 pm on October 16, 2024.The successful proposer shall furnish all permits, materials, equipment, and labor necessary to perform all tasks described in the Scope of Work, including removing and disposing of existing media and performing a visual inspection of each tank in a total of ten (10) steel tank carbon filter vessels. Work will be performed at ONWASA's Dixon Water Treatment Plant, 6661 Wilmington Hwy, Holly Ridge, NC 28445. Background
The Onslow Water and Sewer Authority (ONWASA) is seeking proposals for the removal of carbon filter media at the Dixon Water Treatment Plant. This project aims to ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of the water treatment process, which is critical to ONWASA's mission of providing safe drinking water to the community.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the following tasks:

1. Remove and dispose of existing media from ten (10) steel carbon filter vessels (dimensions: 8 ft. – 6” straight shell by 12 ft. OD).
2. Perform a visual inspection of each tank after media removal.
3. Pressure wash tank interiors and remove any remaining debris and water.
4. Inspect interior components such as underdrain systems, surface wash equipment, inlet distributors, and wash water troughs, advising ONWASA of any deficiencies discovered prior to proceeding with further work.
5. Provide detailed photographs of the interior of each vessel post-inspection.
6. All removed media must be disposed of off-site by the Contractor, with ONWASA providing necessary analysis documentation for landfill disposal.

Period of Performance
Work is to commence within seven (7) calendar days from receipt of a Notice to Proceed and must be completed within thirty (30) calendar days thereafter.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at ONWASA’s Dixon Water Treatment Plant located at 6661 Wilmington Hwy, Holly Ridge, NC 28445.
