Description

Marketing for MT Spatial Real-time Network
Background
The Montana State Reference Network (MTSRN) is a project of the Montana State Library (MSL) established and governed by MCA 22-1-230. The project is a cooperative effort by the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), Tribal Nations, and other Governmental agencies who together operate a network of Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) within the State of Montana that provides sub-centimeter location accuracy within Montana. The MTSRN eliminates duplication of equipment, software, and operational expenditures, while providing greater coverage and accuracy of real time positioning solutions and data from each CORS.
Originally funded as a pilot with one-time State funds and contributions from partners, MSL intends to operate the MTSRN through a user-supported subscriber-based funding model. Currently, the MTSRN is supported by 12 contributors and regularly accessed by a total of 202 users who established accounts during the pilot phase of operation. Contributors and users include county, local, and Tribal government entities, as well as private sector users.
MSL has maintained consistent communications with all contributors and partners about the fact that the no-cost pilot period is temporary. By July 1, 2024, the MTSRN will transition from a no-cost pilot to a subscription-based model.
During this transition we would like to maintain positive relationships with these current pilot users and convert them to paid subscribers. The five-year goal is to increase the number of paid subscribers to 500.
The successful responder to this solicitation will help MSL to achieve these goals through targeted marketing to the surveying, engineering, environmental, agriculture, aerial/drone, utilities, and construction communities and through research to identify and target future sectors.
