Description

Montana State University MilTech is seeking Electrical Design, Fabrication and Consulting Services.
Background
Montana State University MilTech is a Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of Technology Transition Partnership Intermediary. The agency provides hands-on product design, prototyping, technology scouting, and manufacturing assistance to DoD Program Offices and non-traditional defense suppliers and small companies. The goal of this contract is to transition innovative technology to the US warfighter rapidly, reliably, and cost-effectively. MilTech often requires product development services as detailed in this solicitation.

Work Details
The University seeks services in the following areas related to product development:

1. Electronic Design, Fabrication, & Consulting;
2. Robotic Design/Integration & Consulting;
3. Electronic Warfare Design, Fabrication & Consulting.

Tasks may include:
- Concept or design development for mechanical or electrical designs;
- Production of industrial design renderings;
- Definition of design intent parameters;
- Creation of virtual 3D prototypes;
- Theoretical evaluation of designs including interference fit and photo-realistic renderings;
- Providing 3D scanning services;
- Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) services;
- Proof-of-concept prototypes;
- Production of Bills of Materials (BOM);
- Manufacturing sourcing analysis;
- Manufacturing cost estimates;
- User instructions and assembly instructions production;
- Test capabilities validation;
- Conducting iterative build-test cycles for product refinement;
- Physical testing facilitation (both destructive and non-destructive);
- Manufacturability testing;
- Identification and development of testing protocols; and
- Providing detailed reports on test results.

The contract will be performed from August 5, 2025, until September 11, 2025.
