Sealed Bids for West Madison County Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Background
The Madison County Board of Supervisors is issuing a solicitation for the construction of the West Madison County Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project under the CDBG FY 2023 program. The project aims to improve the sanitary sewer infrastructure in West Madison County, Mississippi.

Work Details
The contract involves the construction activities necessary for the rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer system in West Madison County. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: excavation, installation of new sewer lines, repair of existing infrastructure, and restoration of disturbed areas.

The total contract time is set for 365 consecutive calendar days, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays beyond this period. A Bid Bond or Certified Cashier’s Check amounting to 5% of the total bid price is required as bid security.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Each proposal must include this certificate number on the outside of the sealed envelope.

Bidders are also required to submit qualifications including past projects and references. Non-resident bidders must provide documentation regarding their state's treatment of non-resident contractors. Additionally, successful bidders must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount.
