Sealed Bid Proposals for School District Services or Supplies

Background
The Chickasaw County School District in Houston, Mississippi is seeking sealed, written formal bid proposals for the construction of a new Career & Technical Center. The goal of this contract is to enhance educational facilities and provide better resources for students in the district. This project is financed by an Appalachian Regional Commission Grant and is subject to relevant regulations.

Work Details
The successful bidder will be responsible for the complete construction of the Career & Technical Center as specified in the bid documents. The project must be completed within 240 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,000 per day for any delays beyond this period.

All bids must include bid security equal to 5% of the total bid amount, provided in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or Bid Bond from a licensed company in Mississippi. Additionally, the successful bidder must furnish both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the contract amount.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is 240 calendar days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

The work will be performed at Chickasaw County School District's location at 636 Starkville Rd, Houston, Mississippi 38851.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders are encouraged to include Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises as prime contractors or subcontractors. All contractors must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act regarding wage rates for laborers and mechanics. Bidders must also be licensed to do business in Mississippi and provide necessary bonding as specified.
