Runway 17-35 Rehabilitation, Runway Safety Area Improvements, and Connector Taxiway Removal

Background
The City of Madison is seeking sealed bids for the construction project titled 'Rehabilitate Runway 17-35, Improve Runway Safety Area, and Remove Connector Taxiway' at Bruce Campbell Field.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the safety and functionality of the airport's runway and taxiway systems.

Work Details
The work includes the rehabilitation of Runway 17-35 and taxiway connectors, improvements to the runway safety area (RSA), and removal of the connector taxiway.
Specific tasks involve: pavement rehabilitation, runway widening, grading operations, modifications to electrical systems, installation of pavement markings, grooving, and related incidental items.

Period of Performance
The total contract time for the project is 180 consecutive calendar days.
The contractor must commence construction (Phases 1, 2, & 3) within 120 days of receiving the Notice to Proceed and complete all work within 60 consecutive calendar days after construction commencement.
Liquidated damages may be assessed for failure to complete work on time.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Bruce Campbell Field in Madison, Mississippi.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and possess a current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi Board of Public Contractors.
Bids must include a Bid Bond amounting to 5% of the bid.
The successful bidder will also need to provide a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond within 10 days after formal award of the contract.
