Description

Background
The Brookhaven School District is soliciting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from qualified vendors to provide approximately six (6) weapons detection systems for use throughout the district.
The goal of this contract is to enhance safety measures within the school environment by implementing advanced weapons detection technology.
The district aims to ensure a secure atmosphere for students and staff.

Work Details
The vendor will provide six (6) OPENGATE weapons detection systems, which must meet the following specifications:
- Fully open, active walk-through detection system with two freestanding, wire-free, and mat-free pillars.
- Capable of detecting guns, large knives, explosives, and all components of weapons while discriminating against everyday items like keys and cell phones without requiring divesting.
- Low nuisance alarm rate (1-2%) and fast screening capability for individuals with bags or backpacks.
- Powered by rechargeable batteries with a minimum operational time of 10 hours.
- Portable, weatherproof, lightweight (no more than 30 pounds per tower), customizable sensitivity settings, and operated via a permission-based app.
- No ongoing costs beyond the initial proposal.
- Quick setup time of less than 2 minutes.
- On-site training for staff during the first live screening is required.

The contract period will commence upon signing and is expected to be completed by July 25, 2025.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must submit an IRS W-9 form and comply with the Mississippi Employment Protection Act.

Additionally, references from two K-12 educational institutions in Mississippi are required.
