Vicksburg Main Street is seeking proposals from experienced and creative artists or artist teams to design and execute a public mural at Gordon’s Alley in downtown Vicksburg. This project aims to enhance the beauty of downtown while adding vibrant colors through the display of the letters D-O-W-N-T-O-W-N.

The goal is to create a welcoming environment for visitors and residents.

Work Details
The selected mural will be installed on the North Parking Garage facing Gordon’s Alley, measuring approximately 12 x 30 feet. Artists must consider the durability of materials suitable for outdoor environments and ensure that the mural complements the natural surroundings of the park.

The general theme of the mural should focus on bold D-O-W-N-T-O-W-N lettering. The total budget for this project is $10,000, which must cover all expenses related to design, materials, artist fees, labor, transportation, installation, and any necessary permits or insurance.

Period of Performance
The submission deadline for proposals is December 17, 2024.
