Request for Applications: Registered Nurses Needed

Background
East Mississippi State Hospital (EMSH) is seeking contract workers to serve as Registered Nurses to support their healthcare facility. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary nursing services to residents, ensuring quality care and compliance with healthcare standards.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following duties:

1) Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for residents;
2) Record physical and emotional conditions of residents;
3) Document progression of care;
4) Administer medications and treatments;
5) Transcribe physician orders;
6) Participate in care planning;
7) Communicate with residents and their families regarding care;
8) Collaborate with other disciplines on resident care;
9) Manage physical and emotional emergencies of residents;
10) Observe, report, and document compliance or violations of personal issues;
11) Instruct and supervise LPNs/CNAs and DCTs;
12) Maintain supplies and equipment for resident care;
13) Ensure a safe therapeutic environment to minimize accidents/injuries;
14) Communicate effectively with nursing staff, departments, and visitors;
15) Perform other duties as assigned;
16) Coordinate monthly coverage at least 21 days prior to the start of each month with the nursing supervisor.

Note that this contract does not guarantee a minimum number of hours.

Period of Performance
The term of the contract shall not exceed one (1) year with an option to renew.

Place of Performance
East Mississippi State Hospital, located at 5701 North Hills Street, Meridian, MS.

Bidder Requirements
Applicants must possess a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi. A copy of the license must be attached to the application.
