Ready-To-Eat Pizza and Pizza Delivery Services Proposal SY27

Background
The Ocean Springs School District Board of Trustees is seeking proposals for Ready-To-Eat Pizza with Pizza Delivery Services for the school year 2027 (SY27). The goal of this contract is to provide freshly cooked pepperoni and cheese pizzas that meet USDA nutritional requirements to three schools within the district. This initiative aims to enhance the meal options available to students while ensuring compliance with health standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide ready-to-eat pizzas, specifically:

- **Pepperoni Pizza**: 16 inches in diameter, each slice must contain 2 oz. of meat/meat alternate and 2 oz. of grain bread serving, made from enriched flour, topped with 100% real mozzarella and a minimum of 24 slices of pepperoni, cut into eight uniform slices. No substitutions allowed.

- **Cheese Pizza**: 16 inches in diameter, each slice must meet the grain bread serving requirement, made from enriched flour, topped with 100% real mozzarella, cut into eight uniform slices. No substitutions allowed.

**Preparation Requirements**: Pizzas must be fully prepared, sliced uniformly, and delivered in insulated containers to maintain temperature within HACCP guidelines. Irregularly sliced pizzas will be returned for credit.

**Delivery Schedule**: Deliveries will occur once per week from August 7, 2026, through May 14, 2027. The preferred delivery days are Wednesdays for Ocean Springs High School and Middle School, and Fridays for Upper Elementary. Adjustments require approval from the Director of Child Nutrition.

**Quality Control**: The successful bidder must ensure that all deliveries conform to bid specifications; any non-compliant deliveries will be rejected.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from August 7, 2026, through May 14, 2027.

Place of Performance
Deliveries will be made to three locations within Ocean Springs School District:
- Ocean Springs High School (6701 Old Spanish Trail)
- Ocean Springs Middle School (3500 Hanshaw Rd)
- Ocean Springs Upper Elementary (2320 Government St)
All located in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed to sell and deliver food products in Mississippi and provide Certificates of Insurance including General Liability ($1 million), Auto Liability ($1 million), and Workers’ Compensation coverage naming OSSD as additionally insured. Bidders must also complete a Criminal Background Investigation Certification form if services are performed while students are present.
