Provision of Student and Employee Support Services on a Contractual Basis

Background
Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) seeks to contract with a private sector health services provider to deliver on-site health services and support for its student body, faculty, and staff. The goal is to create a comprehensive health care program on the main campus that enhances the level of health care and improves financial effectiveness, services, and satisfaction.

MVSU currently operates a Health Center providing educational and preventative health care. This RFP aims to expand those services through a partnership with an experienced healthcare organization.

Work Details
The contractor will establish a satellite clinic on campus and provide management, equipment, supplies, and staff necessary to operate an accredited health care facility. Services include:
1) Providing a level of service comparable to or exceeding current offerings;
2) Offering additional health services such as mental health and social services billed to students' insurance;
3) Extending health services to University employees and community members.

The contractor must collaborate with MVSU to mold the Student Health Center into a successful program.

Period of Performance
The preferred initial term of the agreement is five years, with options for alternative terms based on the proposal.

Place of Performance
All services will be performed on the main campus of Mississippi Valley State University located in Itta Bena, Mississippi.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be licensed to do business in Mississippi within 30 days of award notification. They should not be in arrears with any payments due to the State of Mississippi. Proposers must demonstrate experience in providing health services and have relevant resources available for service delivery. Insurance requirements include coverage for general liability, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, and professional liability.
