Background
Memorial Hospital Biloxi is issuing a solicitation for construction bids for the renovation of the 3rd Floor New Cath Lab and the 1st Floor PETCT RM RA157. The goal of this contract is to furnish all labor and materials necessary to complete these renovations within an active healthcare facility, ensuring compliance with healthcare codes and standards.

Work Details
The project includes the interior renovation and adaptive reuse of existing hospital space to construct a new PET/CT imaging suite on the first floor. This suite will feature a control room, equipment room, patient uptake rooms, and hot lab supporting spaces. Additionally, two new Class 3 Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories will be constructed on the third floor with associated control rooms and support spaces.

The work scope encompasses selective demolition, installation of new partitions, doors, finishes, specialized construction for advanced medical imaging environments (including radiation shielding systems), structural support for imaging equipment, and installation of healthcare-grade architectural components. Owner-furnished imaging systems include a Canon Cartesion Prime PET/CT system and Canon Alphenix Sky angiography systems that require coordination for structural anchorage and utility connections.

Comprehensive modifications to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection, and low-voltage systems are included to support imaging equipment. The mechanical scope involves removing and replacing an existing air handler unit while ensuring continuous HVAC operation during construction. Strict adherence to Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols is required throughout the project.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence after bid opening on June 4, 2026, with specific timelines outlined in the bid documents.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at Memorial Hospital Biloxi located at 150 Reynoir St, Biloxi, MS 39530.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in healthcare construction within the past five years and have the ability to perform work in restricted clinical environments. A Performance and Payment Bond is required from the successful bidder. Bidders must comply with Mississippi law requiring a Certificate of Responsibility for bids exceeding $50,000.
