Background
The Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (MSDB) is a combined school district serving students who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, or deafblind across Mississippi. Established in 1848 and 1854 respectively, the Mississippi School for the Blind (MSB) and the Mississippi School for the Deaf (MSD) were merged onto one campus in 1999 to enhance service delivery. The MSDB is seeking bids for unarmed security services to ensure safety on its premises.

Work Details
The contract requires the vendor to provide unarmed security guards qualified as School Safety Officers (SSO). Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring security of school buildings and grounds;
- Assigning a Vendor Account Representative;
- Maintaining a sufficient pool of qualified guards;
- Fulfilling requests for guards within 24 hours;
- Replacing unsatisfactory guards within 2 hours at no additional cost;
- Ensuring guards are in uniform and well-groomed;
- Providing necessary materials and equipment;
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and MSDB policies;
- Managing shift changes effectively; and
- Providing gas or electric golf carts for security personnel.

The vendor must also ensure that all personnel adhere to strict conduct standards while on duty.

Period of Performance
The contract term is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, with options for two one-year renewals based on performance evaluations.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and the Blind located at 1403 Eastover Drive, Jackson, Mississippi 39211.
