Background
The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Office of Procurement and Contracts, has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to secure a qualified vendor for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) services for properties owned and operated by the State of Mississippi. The goal is to provide effective pest control while minimizing risks to people and the environment. The selected Offeror will assist DFA by providing requested services, demonstrating technical capacity, and entering into a firm fixed price contract.
Work Details
The Contractor will provide pest control services using the IPM approach at various properties, focusing on both short-term and long-term pest control objectives. Services include controlling indoor populations of ants, cockroaches, flies, rodents, spiders, and other pests as well as outdoor populations within property boundaries. Specific tasks include:
1) Initial inspection schedule within one month of contract award;
2) Development of an Integrated Pest Management Services Plan;
3) Use of EPA-registered pesticides according to label instructions;
4) Monthly service visits for insect control and bi-monthly for rodent control;
5) Emergency response within 24 hours;
6) Invoicing for each service visit with detailed reports on pest control activities.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from August 1, 2026, with an initial term of one year and four optional renewal years at DFA's discretion.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations including the Woolfolk State Office Building, Carroll Gartin Justice Building, New Capitol Building, Robert G. Clark Building, among others in Jackson, Mississippi.
Bidder Requirements
Offerors must have a minimum of three years' experience providing similar services. They must hold a General Pest and Rodent Control (GRCL) License from the Mississippi Bureau of Plant Industry and comply with Mississippi Code Annotated ยง 79-4-15.01 regarding business authorization in Mississippi. Additionally, they must maintain specified insurance coverage including liability and workers' compensation. A Certificate of Insurance must be submitted with the bid.
