Virtual Reality Training System

Background
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office, located in Columbia, Missouri, is seeking proposals for a Virtual Reality Training System (VRTS) to enhance training capabilities for law enforcement personnel. The agency's mission is to prevent crime and injustice while promoting safety and security in the community. This RFP aims to procure a scalable and automated VRTS that can be utilized for various training scenarios, supporting the Sheriff's Office's expanded mission to operate the Regional Training Center.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide, set up, and support a Virtual Reality Training System that includes:

1. A scalable and fully portable system capable of accommodating at least eight officers simultaneously.

2. Realistic weapon platforms including handguns, rifles, Tasers, OC/Pepper spray, and optional shotguns.

3. Features such as an Operator Sketch tool for scenario creation, quick mapping of locations using scanning technology, audio recording of scenarios, after-action review capabilities, eye tracking analytics, and incorporation of real training locations.

4. All necessary hardware (including two headsets), software, supplies (such as batteries and chargers), accessories (like cases), initial on-site training for staff, and ongoing customer support must be included in the quoted pricing.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and last for one year with five optional one-year renewal periods.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office located at 2121 County Drive in Columbia, Missouri.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with insurance requirements including Workers Compensation Insurance with specific coverage limits, Commercial General Liability Insurance of at least $2 million per occurrence, and Business Automobile Liability Insurance of at least $2 million combined single limit. The contractor must also provide proof of insurance naming Boone County as an additional insured. Additionally, bidders must certify they are not debarred or suspended from federal contracts.
