Background
The Metropolitan Community College (MCC) is the largest higher education institution in the Kansas City area, serving approximately 37,000 students annually. MCC's mission is to provide higher academic education, technical/vocational education, and lifelong learning opportunities.
The Grants Office at MCC is seeking to enhance its capacity to secure external funding through competitive grant proposals aligned with institutional priorities and strategic goals.
Work Details
The selected firms or consultants will assist in identifying, developing, and submitting competitive grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. The primary objectives include:
1) Increasing institutional capacity to secure external funding;
2) Providing strategic grant writing services for public and private grant applications;
3) Strengthening collaboration between faculty, staff, and external partners in grant development.
Specific tasks include:
- Conducting discovery/orientation sessions with MCC leaders;
- Researching funding opportunities;
- Developing proposals;
- Coordinating application submissions;
- Facilitating planning meetings;
- Drafting and finalizing grant proposals;
- Ensuring compliance with funder guidelines;
- Providing training on grant writing best practices;
- Submitting monthly reports summarizing activities.
Period of Performance
The contract duration is from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026. Contract renewals will be negotiated 90 days prior to the conclusion of this contract.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations as agreed upon by the parties involved in the contract.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Missouri's E-Verify program for employment verification. They are also required to demonstrate good faith efforts to utilize diverse contractors and subcontractors. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of insurance covering workers’ compensation, general liability, and professional liability as specified in the contract terms.
