Asphalt Mill and Overlay

Background
The City of Nixa is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB-014-2026/Street) for an Asphalt Mill and Overlay project. The purpose of this contract is to enhance the road infrastructure within the city, aligning with the city's mission to maintain and improve public works.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for performing asphalt milling and overlay services on designated streets within Nixa, Missouri. Specific tasks include:
1. Milling existing asphalt surfaces to a specified depth;
2. Applying a new layer of asphalt overlay;
3. Ensuring proper traffic control measures are in place during construction;
4. Maintaining access for emergency vehicles and adjacent property owners throughout the project duration;
5. Completing all work in compliance with the City of Nixa's General Conditions and Technical Specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract term is for one year, commencing upon award, with an option for up to four additional one-year extensions at the City's discretion. Work must commence within ten calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within 120 calendar days from that date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed on various streets within the City of Nixa, Missouri, as specified in the project documents.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid security bond if the bid amount is $20,000 or greater. A performance bond equal to 100% of the contract price is required upon award. Contractors must also comply with prevailing wage laws, obtain a business license from the City of Nixa, and participate in E-Verify if applicable.

Insurance coverage must include general liability and workers' compensation, with the City named as an additional insured.
