24-177 RFQ Consultant Services St Charles County Fiber Interconnect Expansion

Background
St. Charles County Government in Missouri is seeking qualified professional service firms to provide consultant services for the Fiber Interconnect Expansion project. This initiative aims to enhance the county's network capabilities and improve communication infrastructure as part of the Gateway Green Light Program, which focuses on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The project is funded under CMAQ-7302(714) and aims to create a resilient communication network that can self-heal and reroute in case of failures.

Work Details
The consultant will be responsible for design, project management, construction engineering, and inspection related to the implementation of fiber optic cable and network communication expansion. Specific tasks include:
1. **Procurement and Installation**: Install various ITS equipment such as PTZ cameras and road condition sensors along major arterials.
2. **Fiber Optic Installation**: Complete approximately 50,000 LF of in-ground fiber optic backbone communication lines at specified locations throughout St. Charles County.
3. **Network Upgrades**: Procure and install upgrades to communication networks, including replacing Fast Ethernet Layer 2/3 routers with 1 Gigabit Ethernet routers to enhance data throughput.
