2025 Hazelwood Police Department Rooftop Unit Replacement Project

Background
The City of Hazelwood, Missouri, is issuing a solicitation for the 2025 Hazelwood Police Department Rooftop Unit Replacement Project. The project aims to replace the existing rooftop cooling unit at the Police Station located at 415 Elm Grove Lane, Hazelwood, MO 63042. This initiative aligns with the city's commitment to maintaining efficient and effective municipal services.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for removing and replacing the existing engineered air 35-ton cooling only rooftop unit. Specific tasks include:

1. Compliance with all applicable codes and obtaining necessary permits and inspections.
2. Recovery of Freon from the existing unit per EPA code.
3. Disconnecting and removing the existing rooftop unit from the roof.
4. Installing a new Engineered Air 35-ton cooling only rooftop unit or equivalent, ensuring it fits on the existing curb and matches duct openings and electrical penetrations while meeting energy-efficiency standards set by the Department of Energy.
5. The new unit must be a 208-230 volt insulated unit with features such as hinged access doors, stainless steel drain pan, BACnet system integration, and variable frequency drives.
6. Hooking back into existing supply and return ducts and extending control wires as necessary.
7. Installation of a new condensate drain.
8. Removal and disposal of the old rooftop unit from the site.
9. Startup checks including testing and balancing of the new unit.
10. Cleanup of the job site post-completion.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence after written notice to proceed, with an anticipated start date of September 8, 2025, and will terminate 14 working days after this notice.

The work will be performed at the Police Station located at 415 Elm Grove Lane, Hazelwood, MO 63042.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a signed non-collusion affidavit, bid bond (5% of total bid), certificate of insurance as outlined in specifications, and an affidavit of compliance with federal work authorization programs (E-Verify). Bidders are also required to comply with prevailing wage laws for projects over $75,000.
