2025-20 Roof Access Stairs RFP

Background
The Cole County Sheriff’s Department is seeking bids for the replacement of two roof access stairs at their facility located at 350 East High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. This project aims to enhance safety and accessibility for personnel accessing the roof area. The County is committed to ensuring that all work meets professional standards and complies with relevant regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following:
- Replacement of two roof access stairs: one estimated to be 60 feet long by 3 feet wide, and the other estimated to be 15 feet long by 3 feet wide.
- Both stairways must be constructed entirely of aluminum stringers, handrails, and treads.
- Mounting points for both stairs must be made of carbon steel, primed and painted black.
- The contractor must remove and dispose of existing ladders as part of the project.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to start in Spring 2025, with a flexible schedule for completion.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in similar projects. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required for contracts exceeding $25,000. Bidders must comply with federal work authorization programs and provide proof of insurance coverage as specified.
