Snow Removal Services 2025-2028

Background
Century College, part of the Minnesota State system, is seeking proposals for snow removal services for a three-year contract from 2025 to 2028. The college aims to maintain safe driving conditions on its East and West Campus parking lots and connecting roadways during winter weather events.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for snow removal and salt application. Key responsibilities include:

1. Initial snow removal when accumulation exceeds one inch, with primary areas cleared by 7:00 AM.
2. Simultaneous snow removal from both East and West Campuses.
3. Completion of operations within five hours for less than six inches of snow; reasonable timeframes for greater accumulations.
4. Clearing daytime accumulations for evening activities and ensuring visibility at entrances/exits.
5. Monitoring and reporting on parking space loss due to snow.
6. Optional self-performance by Century College may occur.
7. Equipment storage on East Campus with limited electrical power available; proper salt storage required.
8. Submission of service logs within two business days post-event detailing snowfall amounts and resources used.
9. Conducting seasonal walk-throughs with Century College to document site conditions and address any damages caused during operations.
10. Sidewalk maintenance will be handled by Century College personnel.
11. Snow piling on-site as directed by the Grounds Supervisor, adhering to local regulations if off-site removal is necessary.
12. Application of salt after each snow event as needed or requested.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from October 1, 2025, for a duration of three years until September 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Snow removal services will be performed at Century College's East and West Campuses located in Minnesota.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must have a minimum of three years' experience in large commercial snow removal and provide at least three references with contact information. The proposal must include details about equipment capabilities, subcontracting plans if applicable, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
