Background
The City of Monticello is seeking a qualified contractor to design and construct custom skate park features within the existing skate park footprint at the Monticello Community Center. The goal of this project is to enhance recreational facilities for users aged 5 and older while ensuring that the existing concrete pad and stormwater drainage infrastructure remain unchanged.
Work Details
The contractor will provide complete professional services for the design, engineering, custom fabrication, and on-site construction of new skate park features. Required features include:
- Pyramid Entrance
- Custom Hip Quarter Pipe
- Roll-In with W Quarter Pipe and Large Deck
- Blended Quarter Pipe with Large Deck
- Box Jump
- Bump-to-Bump with Ledge
- Stage
- A-Frame with Rail
All features must comply with League of Minnesota Cities Tier 1 Skate Park Standards. The contractor must ensure that all materials are suitable for year-round outdoor use in Minnesota climate conditions. The project requires on-site fabrication and installation of all ramps and features, which must be integrated into a cohesive layout without modifying the existing concrete surface or drainage systems.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award on April 14, 2026, and must be completed by June 30, 2026.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must comply with local and state laws and regulations; provide proof of necessary licenses; maintain statutory workman’s compensation insurance; carry public liability insurance with minimum limits of $2 million for injuries per person and per accident; maintain property damage insurance of at least $2 million per accident; and provide automobile insurance for all equipment used in the project.
