Eden Prairie WTP Geothermal

The contract work requested involves the comprehensive construction of the Eden Prairie Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Geothermal Project. This includes all necessary labor, skills, and materials to properly complete the project under a single contract. The primary components of the project consist of the demolition of the existing plant boiler and chiller system, demolition of select existing air handling units and associated ductwork, and demolition of select heating and cooling water recirculation pumps. Additionally, the work includes installation of new water-to-water heat pumps, new plate and frame heat exchangers, process piping for routing plant water to and from the new heating and cooling system, and electrical equipment to power the new system. The project also requires demolition of the existing plant water heater and appurtenances, followed by installation of a new plant water heater and appurtenances. The City of Eden Prairie is the entity requesting this work. The contract background specifies that all bidders must certify they are a Responsible Contractor by signing a certification form confirming they meet the minimum requirements under Minnesota Statute 16C.285, which can be found in Section 00 43 29 of the project documents. This project is intended to qualify as an IRA Tax Credit Project. Contract requirements stipulate that each bid must be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, executed by the bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in Minnesota, payable to the City of Eden Prairie, in an amount equal to five percent of the full bid amount. This bond serves as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract within 15 days of Notice of Award, in accordance with the terms of the principal's bond and as required by law and the governing board's regulations for performance of the work. Only bids accompanied by such a bond will be considered.
