Description

Background
The University of Minnesota, through its Board of Regents, is seeking proposals for professional design services to facilitate the strategic renovation of Diehl Hall, located on the east bank of the Twin Cities campus. This project aims to modernize the facility, which primarily serves as laboratory and office space within the Health Sciences District. The renovation aligns with the School of Public Health's goals to centralize student-facing units and optimize operations across various locations currently housing SPH programs.

Work Details
The scope of work includes a comprehensive modernization of Diehl Hall, which entails:
- A full-scale interior gut and remodel of all levels;
- Complete replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems;
- Overhaul of fire suppression and life-safety systems;
- Building envelope improvements including roof and window replacements;
- Select exterior enhancements;
- Upgrades for compliance with current accessibility and building codes.

Design services required include:
- Predesign (programming), Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding/Negotiation, and Construction Administration;

- Cost estimating services during the Predesign phase by a qualified contractor.
