Description

Addendum No. 4 Issued October 23, 2025: Addendum No. 4 is being issued to remind, clarify, and change three proposal conditions. 1. Question & Answer Period. As a reminder, the formal question and answer period closed on October 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. Central Time. No further individual questions will be answered. The University reserves the right to seek clarification from Responders following the response submission, per the Supplier Process and Information RFP document. (See University of Minnesota Sourcing Process and Information for Suppliers found in the Attachments Tab in MBID). 2. Additional Information/ Clarification: Per questions that were asked during the question and answer period about the plywood and the Class A fire rating, the University would like to clarify: "The University requires Class A fire-rated Baltic Birch Plywood for the wall panels." 3. University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell) is a division within the Office for Student Affairs at the University of Minnesota. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to contract with a qualified Responder to design, construct, deliver, and install a new climbing wall which may also include a new climbing flooring system. Respondents are prohibited from contacting the identified department about this RFP while in process. Before submitting questions about the RFP via the Questions Tab, read and review the Supplier Process and Information Attachment and ALL Attributes in the Attributes Tab, especially Background and Project Summary/Scope of Work. Background
The University of Minnesota Purchasing Services is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Office for Student Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus. The University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell) division aims to enhance its climbing program by contracting a qualified responder to design, construct, deliver, and install a new climbing wall at the Recreation and Wellness Center. This initiative is driven by the need to replace an outdated climbing wall that has reached the end of its useful lifespan due to high usage and maintenance challenges.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a complete 'turnkey' project proposal that includes:

1. Design, construction, delivery, and installation of a new climbing wall within the existing footprint.
2. The new wall must feature a flat wooden surface made from Class A fire-rated Baltic Birch Plywood.
3. The climbing wall will include at least 11 anchored climbing lines suitable for top rope and lead climbing, as well as autobelay systems.
4. An instructor rappelling ledge for training purposes must be integrated into the design.
5. A bouldering area with various angles and features to accommodate climbers of all skill levels.
6. Maintenance accessibility features including an integrated system behind the wall for easy access to anchors and storage solutions for equipment.
7. Compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon authorization to proceed in the week of November 10th, 2025, with specific timelines outlined in the project schedule provided by the contractor.

The work will be performed at the University Recreation and Wellness Center located at 123 SE Harvard St, Minneapolis, MN 55455.

Bidder Requirements
