BID- PW-Sand, Gravel and Rip Rap

Background
The City of Minneapolis is issuing a Call for Bids for the procurement of Sand, Gravel, and Rip Rap materials to support the Public Works Department's Surface Water and Storm Water operations for the years 2025 and possibly 2026.

The goal of this contract is to ensure a reliable supply of these materials for city projects while adhering to MNDOT specifications.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing and delivering various types of Sand, Gravel, and Rip Rap materials as specified in the bid documents. The materials must meet MNDOT specifications, particularly for Rip Rap which should conform to requirements outlined in specification 3601.

The specific items include:
- Washed River Rock (3/4") - 25 tons
- Washed River Rock (1-1/2") - 500 tons
- Granular Barrow - 500 tons
- Select Granular Barrow - 500 tons
- Coarse Sand - 100 tons
- Pit Run Sand Fill - 25 tons
- 2" Minus Virgin Crushed Rock - 100 tons
- 3" Minus Drain Rock - 10 tons
- Washed River Sand (medium grade) - 10 tons
- Pea Gravel - 10 tons
- Random Field Stone CL-II - 50 tons
- Class II Rip Rap (6" - 12" approx.) - 25 tons
- Class III Rip Rap (9" - 18" approx.) - 25 tons
- Class IV Rip Rap (12" - 24" approx.) - 25 tons.

Bidders are not required to bid on all items but must provide a price for at least one line item. The total contract amount cannot exceed $175,000.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term will be one year starting from the date of award, estimated to be around the end of February 2025. There is an option to extend the contract for an additional year if mutually agreed upon by both parties.

Place of Performance
The delivery location will primarily be within the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota. On occasion, city staff may opt to pick up materials directly.
