Description

PW-Hydraulic Pump, Motor and Cylinder Repair and Parts
Background
The City of Minneapolis is issuing a Call for Bids for the repair and servicing of hydraulic pumps, motors, and cylinders, along with related parts. This contract aims to support the Public Works – Solid Waste and Fleet Services Divisions, as well as various Boards and Departments within the city. The goal is to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of municipal equipment.

Work Details
The contractor will provide services including:

1) Repairing and servicing hydraulic cylinders, motors, and pumps from various municipal equipment such as tandem axle dump trucks, garbage packers, front-end loaders, rubber tire backhoes, excavators, sweepers, curb machines, and pavers.

2) Handling components with ram sizes ranging from 6 inches to 10 inches.

3) Pickup and delivery of all parts or hydraulic components for repair from specified city facilities.

4) Capabilities for chrome plating, induction hardening, nitrate and melonite plating of hydraulic cylinder rods.

5) Testing of all repaired components post-repair.

6) Availability of a certified welder for welding cracked cylinders.

7) Written estimates for repairs may be required by the using department before proceeding with work.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term is one year with potential extensions for up to two additional years based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations in Minneapolis including:

- Eastside Maintenance Facility (2635 University Ave NE)
- Currie Maintenance Facility (1200 Currie Ave North)
- Royalston Maintenance Facility (661 – 5th Avenue North)
- Harriet Maintenance Facility (6036 Harriet Avenue South).

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of seven years of experience in hydraulic cylinder, pump, and motor repair. They are required to comply with insurance requirements including:

- Commercial General Liability Insurance ($1 million per occurrence)
- Auto Liability Insurance ($1 million combined single limit)
- Workers' Compensation Insurance as required by law.

Additionally, bidders must provide evidence of compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
