Weston Elementary Roof Replacement

Background
Kearsley Community Schools is seeking contractors for the roof replacement project at Weston Elementary School located at 2499 Cashin St., Burton, MI 48509. The goal of this contract is to remove the existing roof membrane and install a new adhered thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membrane roofing system, ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Removal of existing roof membrane and all associated components.
2. Installation of a new adhered TPO membrane roofing system, including:
a. Roof insulation with a minimum R-value of R30 and thickness of 5.2 inches;
b. Installation of tapered insulation to ensure proper drainage;
c. Use of compatible auxiliary materials as recommended by the roofing system manufacturer;
d. Installation of safety strips and flexible walkways;
e. Adherence to all specified fire-test-response characteristics and wind uplift performance criteria;
f. Coordination with other trades and compliance with local laws and regulations.

Period of Performance
The contractor must agree to start the roof project on or before June 23, 2025, with completion expected within the timeframe outlined in the construction schedule.

Bidder Requirements
