Tennis Court Renovations

Background
The Cheboygan Area Schools, located in Cheboygan, Michigan, is seeking firm, sealed bids for the renovation of their tennis courts.
The Board of Education aims to enhance the facilities for educational and community use.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Remove existing surface and courts and dispose of materials.
2. Construct a 3.5” HMA surface made of asphalt with an acrylic paint coating (green surface, red courts, white lines).
3. Install 300’ of 10’ high black chain link fence on the north and south sides as a backstop and 240’ of 6’ chain link fence on the east and west sides.
4. Install two ADA accessible pedestrian gates on the southeast and southwest sides.
5. Complete all sitework including excavation, grading, base preparation, and compaction testing.
6. Install one standard tennis court (36’ x 78’) with baselines and service lines.
7. Install four Douglas Pickle-Max Portable Pickleball Systems for use on the tennis court and paint four pickleball court lines on the same court.
8. Install four additional pickleball courts in an adjacent space (36’ x 78’) with a two-court system to maximize overrun.
9. Install new posts and footers along with six pairs of Douglas Premier RD-36 Heavy Duty Pickleball Posts (black) and Douglas Premier 6PN-30 Pickleball Nets and Center Straps.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by August 8, 2025.

Place of Performance
Cheboygan Intermediate School, located at 905 W. Lincoln Avenue, Cheboygan, Michigan.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationships with members of the Cheboygan Area Schools Board or Superintendent as per MCL 380.1267; an Affidavit of Compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act; and a Bid Security of at least 5% of the bid amount in the form of a certified bank check or bid bond.
