Security Guard Services

Background
The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) is seeking proposals for supplemental security guard services for all BWL assets, including but not limited to Haco Drive, Penn/Hazel complex, Eckert/Moore’s Park complex, Erickson Station Complex, Dye Water Complex, and Reo Town Headquarters, all located in Lansing, Michigan.

This contract aims to enhance the security of BWL facilities and ensure the safety of personnel and assets. The BWL is the largest municipally owned electric utility in Michigan and serves approximately 100,000 customers.

Work Details
The contractor will provide security guard services that include: protecting BWL assets; serving as the main point of security contact after normal business hours; managing interactions with unruly individuals; maintaining activity logs; conducting foot and vehicle patrols; controlling access to premises; responding to alarms; and ensuring compliance with BWL security policies.

Security guards must be trained in AED, CPR, First Aid, and undergo background checks. The contract will last for three years.

Period of Performance
The contract period is three years from the date of award.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various BWL locations in Lansing, Michigan.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific training requirements for security personnel and provide proof of citizenship. They must also conduct background checks on all security guards prior to assignment.
