Background
Washtenaw ISD, in partnership with the CoPro+ cooperative purchasing program managed by the Public Procurement Institute of Michigan (PPIM), is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQu) to pre-qualify and award Master Agreements to multiple contractors for the provision of Pool Chemicals.
The goal is to ensure safe and compliant pool operations for K-12 school districts and other eligible public entities across Michigan, while securing competitive pricing and reliable availability of pool chemicals.
Work Details
The awarded contractors will supply and deliver commercial-grade pool chemicals including:
- Sanitizers such as Calcium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hypochlorite (liquid chlorine), Trichlor Tablets, Bromine;
- Water Balance Chemicals including pH Increaser (Soda Ash), pH Reducer (Muriatic Acid or Dry Acid), Alkalinity Increaser, Calcium Hardness Increaser, Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Pool-Grade Salt.
Additional chemicals may be proposed but must be clearly identified. All chemicals must be EPA registered, comply with Michigan EGLE regulations, include current Safety Data Sheets (SDS), be properly labeled per OSHA and DOT requirements, and delivered in manufacturer-sealed containers.
Delivery must comply with hazardous material transportation laws and provide standard delivery within three business days and emergency delivery within one business day if offered.
Period of Performance
The contract will have a term of three years with two one-year renewal options.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed statewide across Michigan for various government municipalities and K-12 school districts.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least three years of experience providing pool chemicals to at least three K-12 school districts or public entities.
They must comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination, debarment, and environmental regulations.
Bidders are required to submit references from previous clients that demonstrate relevant experience.
