RFP - Van Buren Tech High Bay Roofs

Background
The Van Buren Intermediate School District is seeking competitive bids for the removal and replacement of the TPO roofing membrane at Van Buren Tech, located at 250 South Street, Lawrence, MI 49064. This project aims to ensure the integrity and safety of the school's facilities as part of their commitment to providing quality education.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the removal of existing roofing membrane, edge metal, and specified ductwork over the Auto, Welding, Poly and Advanced Manufacturing classrooms, as well as the AHU penthouse.

The installation will include a new induction welded, 60-mil TPO membrane that must be fit and sealed around remaining roof penetrations. New edge metal trim must match existing installations.

The project also requires proper insulation, capping, and sealing of all removed roof penetrations prior to new membrane installation. A 20-year warranty on the membrane is required. The awarded bidder must comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local safety requirements and provide a written safety program prior to starting work.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed on or before August 12th, 2026.

The contract will be performed at Van Buren Tech located at 250 South Street, Lawrence, MI 49064.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must include a Bid Security of 5% of the bid amount in the form of a certified bank check or bid bond. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of the contract price will be required upon award.

Bidders must also submit affidavits disclosing any familial relationships with members of the Board of Education or Superintendent as per MCL 380.1267 and comply with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act certification. Additionally, bidders must provide a Certificate of Insurance showing commercial liability insurance coverage with limits not less than $1 million per occurrence.
