RFP for MS/HS Addition & Renovations

Background
The Union City Community Schools is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Middle/High School Addition & Renovations project. The project aims to enhance educational facilities through a heavily phased construction effort that includes significant additions and renovations to the existing high school. The goal is to improve the learning environment for students and staff, with work scheduled to begin in summer 2026 and conclude in fall 2027.

Work Details
The project consists of constructing 22,887 square feet of new additions and renovating 66,416 square feet of the existing high school. Proposals are sought for all work categories as described in the Project Manual. Contractors must ensure that their bids include costs for furnishing a Co-Obligee Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Co-Obligee Performance Bond. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid security amounting to at least five percent (5%) of the base bid.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from summer 2026 until fall 2027.

Place of Performance
Union City, Michigan, specifically at the Union City High School located at 430 Saint Joseph St., Union City, MI 49094.

Bidder Requirements
All contractors bidding on this project must be bondable. They are required to submit proposals online through BuildingConnected and attend a pre-bid conference at Union City High School on March 9, 2026. Pre-bid RFIs must be submitted by March 17th at 5:00 PM via Building Connected. Contractors must include all required proposal documents as specified in the Proposal Pre-Submission Checklist.
