Request For Quote 185942: Detroit Diesel Marine Engines Repair Service, Labor And/Or Parts

Background
The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) is seeking quotes from qualified respondents to provide repair services, labor, and/or parts for Detroit Diesel Marine engines and components, including Allison Transmissions. The goal is to ensure that these engines are maintained and repaired using authorized methods and manufacturer’s parts, thereby supporting the operational efficiency of the City’s marine fleet.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Providing authorized repairs to satellite components under license.
- Supplying OEM parts for City of Detroit vehicles upon request.
- Offering a listing of other brands of components that can be repaired under license.
- Completing warranty repairs at no cost to the City.
- Utilizing manufacturer warranties before billing the City for repairs.
- Providing written estimates for repairs, which must be pre-approved by the City.
- Ensuring all repairs and costs are authorized by contacting the relevant department before proceeding with any work.

Additionally, all repair parts must be of high quality, either genuine or O.E.M. grade materials. There is also a requirement to maintain an adequate inventory of parts.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a term of two years from the date of award, with potential renewal options subject to approval by the Detroit City Council.

Place of Performance
Repairs will be conducted at the vendor's authorized facility as specified in their proposal.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be located within a 50-mile radius of the City of Detroit and have a minimum of five years' experience in servicing Diesel Marine engines. They must also possess necessary licenses to perform on Detroit Diesel vehicles and equipment.
